CAD Designer (100% Remote)

A Medical Device Manufacturing / Pharmaceutical client of Sharp Decisions is seeking a CAD Designer (100% Remote). This is a 12-month contract with possible extension, offering $31/hour on W2.

The Opportunity

The Laboratory Design Associate prepares 2D/3D designs and construction plans for standalone, analytics-only laboratory solutions. This role supports the development of laboratory designs across multiple phases to ensure successful implementation. The position also involves creating 3D visualizations and digital images to support sales and marketing initiatives.

This role is part of the Roche Healthcare Consulting (RHC) Business Operation team and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, architects, and customers. While remote, the role may require up to 10% travel across the U.S.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Transform Matterport digital twin data (BIM files or point clouds) into usable formats.
  • Produce concept designs, phasing plans, and construction drawings using 2D/3D CAD tools.
  • Develop 3D models, renderings, and visualizations using tools like Revit, Enscape, Twinmotion, or Unreal Engine.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to finalize and modify design concepts.
  • Maintain and document design changes and updates.
  • Provide technical specifications and installation dimensions to project teams.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Track and report project progress in a timely manner.
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Support team members on high-priority or time-sensitive projects.
  • Perform additional drafting, design, and support tasks as needed.
  • Follow company standards and procedures to ensure quality deliverables.

Who You Are

An early-career CAD professional with an interest in laboratory design, technical layouts, and visualization. You are detail-oriented, organized, and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative design solutions.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience with Revit, BIM, and CAD-related software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design Technology, Interior Design, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Unreal Engine, or Twinmotion.
  • Ability to read and design mechanical and architectural drawings.
  • Experience with 3D parametric CAD design.
  • Understanding of CAD file management and drafting standards.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T.
  • Familiarity with Virtual and Augmented Reality tools.
  • Understanding of BIM and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Knowledge of technical principles and design concepts.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Reside within 50 miles of a major U.S. metropolitan airport.
