Much has been said about the changing nature of work in our society. Interestingly, the only real constant is the change itself. As noted recently in TechCrunch, despite all of the uncertainties, there are a few areas where we can reasonably expect continuity.
First, there will be continued growth in the number of jobs requiring substantive and sophisticated understanding of technology. Research indicates our current skills gap is about 7 million jobs deep, and many of these positions require a range of digital and technological capabilities. For those looking to expand their opportunities, developing current and strong technology skills is essential.
Second, people do not want to work in the same positions they have in the past. Younger employees prioritize flexibility and diversity of experience over returning to the same mundane jobs. This trend has been growing for years and technology has made it easier to compartmentalize work into projects, rather than long-term commitments. It’s these opportunities that offer the most attractive options for today’s workers.
So, where does lead us? It’s clear that a skills gap exists, and companies are looking for solutions. Every day we see our clients’ needs for cutting edge and expanding skill sets.
At Sharp Decisions, we pride ourselves on operating at the intersection of talent and innovation. We provide opportunities for skilled workers to solve some of the most difficult technological challenges – and expand their knowledge and understanding in the process. For job seekers that understand the need for technology expertise and are looking to expand their horizons through consulting opportunities and innovative ecosystems, check out our current positions![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
