Are Your Company Marketing and Sales Communications ADA Compliant?

Maintaining an ADA compliant website not only helps to avoid fines, but also helps those with disabilities to use your website and engage with your company. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 was passed to give those with disabilities equal living standards in the United States of America. 

Following the Web Content Accessibility Guide, or WCAG, 2.1 AA checklist on accessibility.org is a great way to keep your website user friendly for all people. This guide, updated in 2018, is the most up-to-date version of the Web Accessibility Initiative under the World Wide Web Consortium, the internet standards organization. The WCAG is an actionable guide to increase accessibility on your website; it’s a great place to start. 

It is worth noting that WCAG is not a law or a regulator. It is simply a way to help guide companies on how to make their websites become ADA compliant. The WCAG does not require compliance, but the ADA does. So, following the WCAG guide is a good start, but talking with an online ADA expert may be the best way to ensure compliance.
